I am blogging on blogger now - you can find my new blog here. I've been trying out blogger now for a few weeks, and like it. The best part is-- it is FREE! SO, you can visit my new blog, become a "follower" or subscribe for updates - there is a link at the top of the page. Please let me know if you need more info. THANKS for reading.... Hi Marla!
Papertrey Ink Challenge, yippee! I chose to use Dawn's color combo. Aqua Mist, Hibiscus Burst, Spring Moss & White. Sometimes I think my little PTI Ink cube colors are a little off, like this hibiscus burst color looks more raspberry, and my aqua mist is almost light grey. I wonder if I should upgrade to the larger pads.... anyone else have this problem? I'm Spring cleaning, so I'm trying to use some sets I've neglected, or let them move onto another home. Beautiful Blooms is such a pretty set, perfect for spring. I also used the fillable frames set. I love the ruffled grosgrain ribbon and buttons, adds some much needed texture. OH, and the glitter is there, it is just really hard to see. I lined the inside of the frame with quickie glue pen & added DeNami xtra fine glitter. So pretty.
My daughter has been really sick with a "Virus" since Wednesday night. Poor thing. STILL has a temperature today, so no school or leaving the house for us. So I've had time to do crafty stuff when she watches tv. and this is one project I did when I was sitting with her. I saw this on a blog a few months ago, and finally took the time to do it. I'd give credit to the person who thought of it, but I can't remember where I saw it. Wish I would have done it months ago!! The PTI cases are awesome, but the labels on the spine are hard to read. So I added a little strip of white paper with some red line tape to the inside behind the stamp set name. Can you see how much easier they are to read now? It didn't take long to do, and the end result is awesome!! Feel free to email if you need more info. Happy Monday!
DeNami Design is the sponsor this week at 2S4Y. So excited to participate in Kazan's awesome sketch and use some fun DeNami Stamps. I love this classic DeNami contempo couple. I normally would emboss it in silver, and make an elegant card. It has been a neglected stamp for the last 5 years so I wanted to pull it out & try something new. I dusted it off and decided to make a more funky and fun card by adding the aquamarine cardstock and fun rhinestones. I wanted the focal image to really stand out so I mounted it onto chipboard and added some punched out 1" circles around it. I had been scrapbooking earlier in the day and had used a large circle with the same concept on my page. I think I am finally getting to a stage in my crafting that my brain actually can use scrapbooking & card techniques interchangeably. The scrapbook page is green because that is my favorite color, and we bought it around my 30th birthday, so I claimed it as my birthday gift.
Cardstock: White, black, and aquamarine
Ink: black versafine and silver.
Stamps: contempo couple, congratulations script, and starlet
Accessories: silver edge white ribbon, black grosgrain ribbon, DeNami clear embossing powder, Nestabilites Circle Die, 1' circle punch, rhinestones, chipboard, embossing gun.
Lavendar Moon, Plum Pudding from PTI and Versamagic Persimmon chalk ink for the orange color. I also used a quickie glue pen to add a thin line of xtra fine DeNami glitter to accent the inside of the frame. PTI Plum satin ribbon.
I picked up these fabulous border & corner punches by Martha Stewart while I visited Stampers Corner on Saturday. They make such a pretty delicate border, LOVE it! I used the punch on some pretty pink PTI dot paper. This Zinnia stamp by Karen Lockhart fit perfectly in the square. Added some border stamping on the bottom of the card, Lemon PTI. Finished the card off by adding some stampin up certainly celery grosgrain ribbon. Colored in with my copics.
Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop.... So excited to participate this month, since I forgot last month! The challenge this month was to find inspiration from one of the PTI designers.... easy task! I am always referring back to Dawn's blog for her great color combo's and striking layouts. I somehow managed to "copy" this card more than just inspired. I did use different inks, and a different stamp set. I also added the polka dots next to the saying at the bottom, otherwise it is just like Dawn's. Didn't want to mess up her awesome card! I have tried for 1/2 hour to add a picture of Dawn's card, but I can't figure it out, technical problems. SO Sorry! This is my 1st time using the new PTI Dot Spot set, loving it so far. I added the Thank You saying from Giga Guide Lines, and the same Denami polka dot border I used yesterday. DeNami & PTI buttons. PTI twine, raspberry fizz, berry sorbet, chamomile & lavender moon ink. Spellbinders dies made it super fast & easy... cut and then stamp, love those clear stamps!!!
DeNami has a brand new blog & is hosting a color challenge. The colors above are, Magenta, Brown, Lime, White & Kraft. Fabulous Color Choice Nami!! I immediately thought of this stamp when I saw the color palette, I justed needed a layout- so I used the Laura's Sketch at the 2 Sketches for You blog. Easy when you have the colors, layout and stamps chosen! Just stamp & assemble, ha, ha, if it was only that easy!
Please play along and upload your card to the DeNami blog here. I'm excited to see what other creations are made! There is even a chance your card will chosen as one of the "fabulous 3" & be lucky enough to win a $30 gift certificate!!!
DeNami Cardstock- lime, magenta, chocolate brown, and white.
DeNami stamps- cupcake tower and polka dot border.
Accessories- black versafine pad, cherry pink pad, strawberry glitter, quickie glue pen, and chocolate ribbon. Tombow Markers, Foam Tape and ATG tape. EK Success Border Punch & Marvy Scalloped Oval Punch.
I made some embellies for the PTI contest challenge. I actually really enjoyed this project, cutting them out wasn't as bad as I expected. I have had these beautiful DeNami stamps since September -it's almost spring so it's time to ink them up!! I used PTI Ink, Cardstock, Ribbon & Paper. Signature Greetings for the saying. DeNami Hibiscus and Ficus Leaf for the embellies.
Hope Everyone has a Happy Valentines Day!!
Embellish has some bright colors this week for the challenge. The card needs to be birthday themed. Colors: Raspberry, New Leaf, Enchanted & Chocolate.... I had to add white in too! I needed some inspiration to use all of those colors, so I used the 3rd card on this post that Dawn made for inspiration.
DeNami heart present and Happy Birthday stamp. There is a story behind the present stamp. I honestly stamped & embossed it about 8 years ago, moved it with me from WA. to NV. and stored it for all of those years. Well, I finally used it. I might have to buy it again, because I loved coloring it in with my copics.
Here is the picture of my sweet 5 year old daughter with the roses she chose for her teacher. She had a lot of fun making her a card & proudly taped it to the front of the vase. She spent about 15 minutes drawing & writing the sweet message inside....and an additional 10 on glitter.
Anyone have little girls? I must share the etsy store I buy Saryn's hair bows from. I am really picky, and they must be perfect & last . Peachy & Pip - she does custom bows, just let her know what color or style!
